Tea Party Spreads Disinformation and Distortion of the Truth

This is a response to an email sent out by Bob Turner of the Clermont County Tea Party

“Dave is an Ohio Township resident and a Tea Party supporter, as well as a member of the Republican Party Central Committee himself. He also serves as the party's treasurer. Dave has an impressive, which will come in handy tackling the $4 million deficit that Clermont County currently has.”

Tea Party fails to mention that the looming deficit is a result partially a result of former Tea Party Commissioner Archie Wilson giving 3% raises to county employees in a time in which we should have been doing pay freezes. No doubt it will be further compounded next year when Tea Party candidate Vince Faris takes office as County Prosecutor (full Time) causing an increase in expenditures to that departments labor costs now that we will no longer have a part time prosecutor on a part time salary. That is unless they lay people off? So I hope Mr. Uible can exercise the “Fiscal Responsibility” that the Tea Party advocates but has yet to deliver in practice.

“Last night also had a dramatic twist. Candidate Jack Kuntz announced that he was removing himself from consideration for the appointment. The former Goshen Township Trustee asked his supporters to back Uible. Kuntz expressed his desire to do the right thing for the county, and, since he and Uible shared many of the same supporters, he did not want to split the vote by remaining a candidate. This type of selfless act is rare in politics today, and is something to be admired and encouraged.”

Wow, way to distort the truth. What actually happened is what is commonly referred to as a “back room deal.” In this case the Tea Party decided to drop their candidate Jack Kuntz and support Dave Uible instead. It was far from a selfless act. Rather, Mr. Kuntz found he no longer had the support from the Tea Party and Liberty PAC and accepted the fact that without that support he would not get the appointment. It was a calculated move by the Tea Party where an unfavorable candidate is switched at the last minute for a more recognizable candidate without sufficient time for organized opposition… the classic back room deal.

“Many of us got involved in the Tea Party because we were tired of self-serving politicians…”

Congratulations now you have created a self serving party.
