Proof from the Tea Party itself that it doesn't matter if an incumbent has done a good job or not there gunning for you! Why replace those who have served the county well, and held faithfully to the party principles?
"As you have heard me note, when it comes to local politics, the primary is the most important election in Clermont County. Why?
Because it has been years and years since a local Democrat or Independent challenger has won a contested race in a general election here. The primary decides nearly all contests.
If we keep electing the same old people and expecting different results, we are in for more disappointment and will continue leaving our nation in peril.
Multi-term incumbents grow further and further from the people as their positions become more and more entrenched. Why listen to constituents when you know you'll be reelected no matter what?
It is very difficult to push over a pyramid from the top. You have to start at the bottom. We need a re-set across all levels of government and a new group of principled
representatives to help begin rebuilding our country.
We are such a conservative stronghold here in Clermont! We should send forward principled leaders who will stand on the foundation of support we can provide. Not doing so makes about as much sense as entering a Yugo in the Indy 500.
Over 80% of districts across the country are one party dominated. Congress' approval rating is around 10-12%. Yet, nearly 84% of incumbents will be re-elected to office!
The people are allowing themselves to be fooled. They must wake up and begin breaking the ties that bind them. Any qualified challengers can step up in a primary. The question is whether the people will give those challengers a chance to win."

55KRC: GOP Rule Change
The state GOP adopted a rule change that the Tea Party claims:
"is designed to keep Tea Party members and activists in other liberty groups out of the State party, and ensure Dewine's continued leadership."
This may or may not have been the purpose. On the one hand retroactive rules should never be adopted, and on the other hand it does insure that LOYAL Republicans remain in control of the Republican party.
Scott Nichols after all voted in the Democrat Primary in 2008 NOT the Republican. As a LOYAL Republican I would have never voted Democrat "Operation Chaos" or not. He is also known to resort to baseless accusations and childish behavior rather than stick to a professional and constructive debate. Is this how we want to be represented?
This is an email I received from a Tea Party attendee:
"I am not part of the Republican Central Committee but I have been attending the Tea Party meeting at the Holiday Inn. During the past year I have noticed a huge change with in the group. Twenty to thirty people have broke off and started this "Liberty PAC" to support their own agenda. This is extremely unfortunate. This "Liberty PAC" promotes three agenda's
1. Remove all current elected officials and do not speak with them to see if they support their values
2. Promote themselves- Self Promotion
3. Tear down a group of educated and public serving individuals that work in the Central Party
It is extremely unfortunate. They have created an us against them. I love this beautiful country that we live in and I ask the other Republicans in the County that are not part of this group to stand up for what has been and still is a great party. The promotion of self interest must stop. We know who is doing this and we must stop them from destroying the Republican Party. We have seen what they have done when they self support candidates.
Support the Republican values and not they "Liberty PAC values (self promotion)"
The Morning Show host Brian Thomas will explore the GOP rule change controversy tomorrow morning on 55KRC. At 7:05 he'll speak with Ohio Liberty council President Tom Zawiskowski. Then at 8:05, Brian will interview Scott Nichols about his race.
"Please take the time to listen tomorrow morning, and call into the show if you have the opportunity. This is an important issue, and the future of the State GOP is in the balance."

The Tea Party is right! This is a "important issue" and the future of OUR State GOP is in the balance. Tell Brian Thomas at 55KRC, (513) 749-5500, rule change or not we don't want Scott Nichols representing OUR Party!

Liberty PAC to Host Candidate Night for 1 out of 12 Commissioner Hopefuls
The Liberty PAC will host next Tuesday, February 28 at 7:00 PM at the Holiday Inn Eastgate an event that will be featuring Jack Kuntz who is ONE of the 12 candidates interested in the appointment to the open County Commissioner position recently vacated by Archie Wilson.
Now the Liberty PAC/Tea Party is saying that by "attending, no one is asking you to vote for Jack or for us to assemble any block votes." Yet by blocking other candidates from participating they are doing exactly that. If they where really interested (as a Political Action Committee) in helping to field candidates they would extend the invitation to ALL the candidates running.
Now they are quick to explain why they are not, because "a large meeting would be difficult to facilitate due to the volume of candidates. Assuming 15-20 minutes of introduction per candidate, the meeting would take well over three hours, and this assumes no open time for questions."
There are other organizations that have hosted candidate nights for well more than 12 candidates, and have done so successfully. At these candidates purchase table or booth space for a nominal donation to the group hosting the event, and the public is free to come around and talk with each candidate.Yes, it may be a three or four hour event, but it provides for flexibility of schedules, and gives each candidate an opportunity to be vetted at the event. Committee members are already going to hear speeches at the March 14th meeting. As a committee member myself I can tell you I am not interested in hearing speeches so much as being able to meet and talk with candidates face to face.
Also, they state "There is nothing keeping any other individual, group, or candidate from hosting a similar event to facilitate the research of central committee members of any of the other 10 [11] known candidates." Maybe that's true, assuming that others can rent a large space, and that Committee members have time, in the middle of an election, to attend multiple meetings. I know I would not have the time to attend 12 separate meetings.
What this is really about is creating a block vote for candidate Jack Kuntz, but they don't want it to appear that way. Otherwise, why not host an event for all candidates seeking the appointment? I'm not fooled, and so are others I have talked too. I may be the one speaking out, but I am not alone in my thoughts. However, I am willing to assume the political fall out for my public display of thoughts not just of myself.
Scott Nichols, co-founder of the Clermont Tea Party commented on my face book "a couple of us got well over 80 people to run for precinct Committeemen to move the Clermont GOP toward our values."
Interesting choice of words "move the Clermont GOP toward OUR VALUES." I find this interesting because there is an assumption there that the Clermont GOP did not share the same values. How would many of these (not all) people even know having NEVER attended a meeting of the Clermont GOP? The Clermont GOP is part of the Republican Party, and unlike the Republican National Committee (RNC), has held true to Republican values of Fiscal Responsibility, Limited Government, Free Markets, Pro-Life, Pro-2nd Amendment, Pro-Religion, and other traditional CONSERVATIVE values. When publicly elected officials violated these values we got rid of them, an example would be Mary Walker who was guilty of wasting taxpayer monies.
I ask this question, (because I know many of us that have served on the Central Committee believe that we are conservatives first and Republicans second) The Tea Party only officially stands for 3 of these values, Fiscal Responsibility, Limited Government, and Free Markets. Once they succeed in replacing all incumbents, where will they strand with the rest of OUR values?

Do You Trust Central Committee?
Each county in Ohio has a Republican and a Democrat Central Committee. Members of these committees are elected for each voting precinct. In Clermont County the Republican Central Committee has voted to endorse candidates for the March 6th, Primary Election. It is important to note that these candidates are endorsed by the "Central Committee" and NOT the Clermont County Republican Party.
Why is this?
The Central Committee is but a small part of the larger Republican voters in Clermont county that form the Republican Party. The Central Committee's endorsement is but a recommendation to the party on who they believe should be our candidates for the November General Election.
Do NOT blindly follow your Central Committee, because it is we, Republican voters, who have the final say on March 6th as to who we want to be our Republican Candidate.
Do NOT use the Central Committee Voting Guide. Make up your own mind by informing yourself, and do not rely on others to do it for you.
What you may not know is that the Tea Party now controls large portions of Central Committees. In Clermont county it is about 40-45% of the Republican Central Committee. You may have heard that the Tea Party is not running their own candidates as a 3rd party. That is true, because they are doing it from within the Republican Party!
The Tea Party also claims to not endorse any candidates, but that is NOT exactly true. The Clermont Liberty PAC IS the Tea Party and they DO endorse!
What is the problem with this?
The Tea Party is putting up candidates through the Republican Party to challenge ALL incumbents regardless of whether or not they have been doing a good job in there elected offices.
For example:
Incumbent Prosecutor, Don White has been serving Clermont County and the Republican Party since 1988 on a part time salary, but now they would have you vote for Vince Faris who will increase county spending by becoming a full time prosecutor with a full time salary. How will the prosecutors office pay for this? Will where the money come from? Will Faris lay off workers from the prosecutors office to pay for this?
Incumbent Common Pleas Clerk of Courts Barb Wiedenbein is being challenged by David Uible who is endorsed by the Clermont Liberty PAC even though her office generated a $1,000,000 surplus given to the Clermont County General Fund! When governments are running deficits she has created a surplus in our county.
The Tea Party is supposed to stand for Fiscal Responsibility, Limited Government, and Free Markets. Yet they are putting up candidates that may very well increase the operating cost of government in Clermont County!
The last candidate they supported was Archie Wilson who raised government spending when he came to office by giving government employees raises when his opponent Scott Croswell III wanted to impose a pay freeze!
Voters, turn the TV off, throw away the mailers, hang up the phone, and tell your friends you can make up your own mind.
